Relevance realization

Where’s this all going? Well, isn’t that the question. It would seem that many have the relentless pride to truly say they know where we came from and where it is we 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺s will go when we’re gone. And maybe it was many more before, yet lesser now, who’s to say. But if you ask a 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺, maybe a 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺 would say that maybe this is all just jazz, maybe.

Then some 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺 says “You just avoided the question.” Yes, we don’t think there’s any sufficient evidence to support the idea that there’s a grand narrative winding through the arc of time..

But there is evidence of a place in time and space where 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺 is going to answer the question of where all this is going for 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺.

The time and place is here. 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺 is here. Where is 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺 going?

Ultimately we’re working on(in) a universe. And we hope you’ll want to experience..

Now, if you don’t want to dig into something hearty, feel free to skip past this dense drivel and go to the bottom for more information on the 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺Heads..

P.S. Listen to this Lex episode for an extra dose of existential density.

It is a good episode. Take notes.

Kulture Stagnate

We’ve arrived at a massive cultural stagnation that’s known in modern day terminology as the “monoculture.” A monoculture is one of the largest forms of centralization in the cultural domain. It seems that in response, assortments of fatigue have swept across the tech-littered tribes. Fatigue from what? Fatigue from many things it would seem. In some sense, a monoculture can be considered one large gecko chamber that contains many of the traditionally established gecko chambers or filter bubbles. The fatigue types and effects vary from tribe to tribe, person to person—though what one might observe that is similar amongst the tribes is that they are all increasingly leaning away from each other, day by day.

Yes, it is much like that Biblical tale of the tower of Babel that we all love to reference and drag out of the closet these days—more evidence of a monoculture, people repeating the same mental models, the same lines of thought, the same movies, the same stories, adaptation after adaptation, remake after remake, on the social feeds and on the pods, on the daily.. All the tribes repeat the same things ad nauseam, each locked in their own respective gecko chambers with the keys long thrown away. Their minds long made up and dropped off a pier while accessorized with cement galoshes. Perhaps 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺 is then the tribe of edge-runners that bounce off the edges of all the gecko chambers looking for scraps of truth wherever they lie, and seeking above all else to never fall in and get trapped inside any gecko chamber. The truth maybe then, is that gecko chambers, or, stagnant crowds breed madness.

Where are the new schools of thought, the NEW MODELS? Imagine that this is a trend of cultural decentralization brought about as the monoculture grew too vast and too fast that it couldn’t sustain its cartoonishly-oversized grip on the attention economy. With that in mind, the new channels of thought might be found on the edges, with the people who are front-running the alternative cultures outside the reign of the monoculture—the people outside of the gecko chambers, the people who have long felt the fatigue of the monoculture and ran away from it as fast as they could. The people who seek the novel, seek the exploration in life, seek the development of the self and the curiosity: 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺s.

What if these people completely turn away from the monoculture and seek every scrap of value they have in life from alternative sources altogether?

We’d built these machines to try and connect people, put everyone within reach of everyone and if you know how to frame the information(or farm and sell it), it truly has been educational, as well as ferociously fracturing to say the least. We could go on and on about the things we think these machines are doing wrong for us all. But what is it that these machines do very well? These machines sufficiently amplify the desires and the reach of the desires of humans: the entire spectrum of human desire and every behavior that humans have internalized to gain access to that which is desired.

“Move fast and break things®,” well, what if the thing® you broke was the ability to do the thing® you thought you’d set out to do? You thought you’d bring People® together? You only assisted in accelerating the fragmentation of the masses, which even then who’s to say was not already an emerging effect in the culture beforehand. These behavior modification machines in lockstep with a few traumatic years developing in the absence of the once normative level of social frictions that used to sharpen people’s social and emotional intelligences; people’s social behaviors adapted in an increasingly isolated(or even adapted within a gecko chamber) fashion than ever, amplified and revealed a previously unseen nature of so many—this shock of the nude split the room, the family and then the tribe, and now the populations. How many people have you excommunicated, fallen out from, or just don’t bother to talk to anymore today? How many people have you blocked?

In a world where it’s increasingly obvious that attention is the most exclusive and sought after currency—the most scarce currency that corporations and many other humans in your life are seeking to extract from you—you’re more than guaranteed to incentivize the most abhorrent perversions and self-aggrandizing that humanity might ever inspire. Will you not?

Maybe within 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺 is the realization that the lesson of the tower of Babel is that we need to decentralize the cultural engines or cultural channels when any major stakeholder within a culture becomes a monopoly. It seems there exists a friction in enough of the masses against such perversions of monocultures. And further, what if the observation contained in Babel was only a half-observation of a natural or emergent force that arises in systems when certain cultural masses gain too much weight or prominence? A boredom or apathy of the same old stuff will always exist, apparently it acts as a wave function with cultural saturation of any meme or artifacts.

Maybe it’s a natural ebb and flow relationship. Maybe it’s a wave. Maybe it’s some form of social evolution; when any one culture gains too much power, other cultures adapt to strike the monoculture in their own way.

Just as jump cuts were adopted in film editing to compress the space between two scenes, two short moments in time, or two narrative arcs and audiences quickly understood this new adaptation in the language of film. Similarly the contents and languages of culture have been compressed with time. What if this makes way to very difficult cultural cognitive densities perhaps which is ultimately one of the greatest contributors to the fatigue?

It’s very much a digestive period, there is so much to unpack, we have more information than ever, we’re gonna need a lot of assistance in this—perhaps artificial, and then you introduce potential branches of human history determined by decisions made by software and further, potentially faulty software, or inherently biased..

People not so many generations ago might’ve heard news stories about neighbors or relatives or famous people every few days to weeks or even longer gaps of time without truly knowing what was happening to anyone or even what was happening anywhere. Without much time, we’re now in the most informationally dense era with a news and media monopolized attention economy, complete with the largest monoculture ever engineered. Is it any wonder after decades of living in this hyper accelerated informational battleground that we’re all fatigued from it?

𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺s pave their own path. Shovel your way out of the shit.

Shovel your way out of the shit.
Shovel your way out of the shit.

𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺Heads

The 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺Heads are an upcoming collection, the first collection ever to leave the fabled world of Planet 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺.

We hope you’ll join us on their journey to 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺’s Gate.

𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺’s Gate being the once in a lifetime event when the world will finally be open to those who seek to visit Planet 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺.

The 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺Heads are an upcoming export of the 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺 Universe, the very first aside from those cryptic posters. They will be 64 in number, sixty-four is the number, no more, no less. They will be unexpected. Hopefully you will be unexpectedly satisfied.

Imagine that all of the 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺Heads are visitable landmarks, on Planet 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺..

Big life things are happening so it is certainly taking a bit to spin the wheels. We love your patience 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺s. 𝙿𝚄𝙽𝙺s have patience like no other because they understand longtermism is the only way to go. 🫡🗿
